What is it that they say? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?
Well, if that’s the case, country superstars Little Big Town should be feeling quite flattered these days. Just recently, rockers Halestorm performed on SiriusXM’s Octane with their own rendition of Little Big Town’s fiery hit “Girl Crush.”
Does Halestorm’s lead singer look familiar to you? She should. That’s Lzzy Hale, who has shared the stage many a time with country bad boy Eric Church, most notably on the hit song “That’s Damn Rock and Roll.”
“Girl Crush” continues as quite an anthem for singers in all sorts of genres, and is sure to be a set list staple when Little Big Town goes on the road on the fall leg of “The Pain Killer Tour”, which will kick off in Minnesota on October 8. Of course, the foursome of Karen Fairchild, Jimi Westbrook, Phillip Sweet, and Kimberly Schlapman still have a summer of tour dates before that.
“Girl Crush” is also sure to get a bunch of brand new buzz come May 17, when the group will perform the song at the Billboard Music Awards with none other than country legend Faith Hill. The awards show will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on ABC at 8-11 p.m. EST.
