Watch as a country hit-maker makes a surprise return to the stage after surgery Facebook/Tootsie's

Back in late January of 2016, the career of country hit-maker Tyler Farr was completely in the hands of a surgeon, which had his fans holding their breath.

“This is the last thing I would’ve ever expected,” says Tyler in a press release soon after his diagnosis. “I sing hard, and I give it everything I have every night, but I really believed I was putting my training to work. After a No. 1 song, an awesome tour with Jason [Aldean] and getting engaged, this is not how I thought I was going to be winding up 2015.”

Tyler went forward with his microlaryngeal surgery to remove a vocal polyp on his vocal chords, and things had been quiet. That is, until Tyler shocked an afternoon crowd at Nashville’s Tootsie’s World Famous Orchid Lounge when he stepped onto the stage to perform his hit “A Guy Walks Into a Bar.”

The impromptu show was the perfect warm-up for Tyler, who is now healthy and ready to get back on the road in May 2016.

“While I’ve been on vocal rest these past few months, I’ve been mentally preparing for when I hit the road next, which will be very soon,” Tyler said in a recent press release. “I’m ready to bring my energy back to my fans that have been so incredibly supportive.”
