“Rocky Top you’ll always be, home sweet home to meeee….”
Peyton Manning has won championships in both Denver and Indianapolis, but as an alumnus of the University of Tennessee, “Rocky Top” is a song he knows very, very well.
He’s only been tired for about a month now, and while he is figuring out what life holds for him after football, Manning has made it pretty clear that singing is definitely not an option.
The longtime country music fan was recently in Nashville for a Nashville Red Cross event and when it was over, he made his way to Winners Bar. where he hopped onstage at the Monday Night Whiskey Jam. Joined by Lee Brice and Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay, Manning took the mic and unleashed his… let’s just say rough vocals on everyone.
This wasn’t the first time Manning has sung with a country star. He’s taken the stage and shared a mic with stars from Kenny Chesney to Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley, and he’s never gotten any better.
The beauty of it all is that nobody seems to mind. Needless to say, he can probably cross ‘country music star’ off his new job possibilities.
