It’s still a little bit of a mystery. We aren’t quite sure what Vince Gill and Maren Morris are doing together, but it is has to be of the musical nature, right?

Big Yellow Dog Music, one of Nashville’s prolific publishing companies that employs a roster of amazing songwriters including Maren and pop sensation Meghan Trainor, shared a photo on their Twitter page of Maren perched on the arm of a chair holding a piece of paper and Vince nearby strumming an acoustic guitar.

There is a music stand in front of them and some gear on the floor, although it looks to be more for guitar effects than recording, although it’s hard to tell from the angle of the shot. There is also someone else, cut out of the photo, playing a guitar and another guitar in the background behind Vince.

Now, no one in the Rare offices claims to be a detective, but the evidence points toward a possible duet between Vinny and the young country sensation, who is making a lot of noise on Keith Urban’s Ripcord World Tour. She’s already scored her first No. 1 with “My Church,” and her newest single, “80s Mercedes,” is rapidly climbing up the charts, so a collaboration with Vince is almost like a blessingin itself.

We love Maren and we love Vince, but we really love Vince’s collaborations. Like Marty Stuart says, he makes every duet extra special. Over the years he’s combined forces with the likes of Reba, Amy Grant, Kelly Clarkson and even this one with Patty Loveless.
