It’s no doubt that the phrase “on the go” is familiar to big stars like Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.

So, it’s hard to imagine that the couple, who has been married for 10 years, even has time to schedule a date night.

But, it appears that they actually do. And, when they do it usually includes a delicious dish. Because hey, Trisha is a mighty fine cook!

“One of the first things I ever made [Garth] was fettuccine alfredo,” Trisha tells NBC’s “Today.” It’s one of the dishes he still really likes. It was a full-on decadent version. I made it so rich, I think I doubled the cream or butter over what the recipe called for.”

She continued, “Now I sometimes make him a version with cashew-based cream sauce. I learned it doesn’t have to have as much cream and butter and parm as you’d think and it’s still good!”

Of course, that don’t mean Garth isn’t willing to pick up the spatula from time to time.

“He does a lot of warm, yummy comfort food,” said Trisha, “when I cook, I like to go off of a recipe, but he likes to experiment and figure it out based on what’s in the kitchen.”

Aside from playing shows with Garth on the Garth World Tour with Trisha Yearwood and putting the final touches on their upcoming Christmas duets album, Trisha will be spending more time in the kitchen in the near future because the eighth season of her Food Network show, “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen,” debuts at 8/7c on July 30.
