Trisha Yearwood is praying as she prepares to play the role of her life Entertainment Tonight

As the minutes continue to tick away toward the start of the FOX-TV live musical event “The Passion,” which will air live from New Orleans on Palm Sunday, March 20, Trisha Yearwood finds herself on the cusp of the biggest role of her life.

“I’m freaking out right now,” Trisha recently told Entertainment Tonight about the production, which will also include the music of Chris Daughtry and Seal. “I’ve acted and I’ve sung, and it looks really cool but it’s not that easy to do.”

Trisha will play the role of Mary, the mother of Jesus in the production, which will tell the story of Christ’s last days on earth all told through popular music.

“I have never done anything remotely like this,” Trisha said in a recent interview on the Today show. “I’m really freaking out and I am beyond nervous. [Garth’s] nervous for me. He tells me he will be my support any way I want it.”

It was just a few short months ago that Trisha confirmed that she was taking the pivotal role in the production.
