Tim McGraw is heartbroken over the massive flooding that took place in Louisiana between Aug. 8–15.
Now, he is speaking up in hopes to make a difference in the lives of those who were affected by the tremendous tragedy.
On Aug. 22, Tim took to social media to pour his heart out in support of the flood victims from his home state. In a heartfelt message and video clip, the country star encouraged fans to help out in any way that they can.
Tim wrote, “So many people’s lives have been disrupted and the recovery is just beginning. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected. I’m calling on everyone to pull together and help out with the relief efforts that are underway.”
He continued, “There are so many ways to support — from volunteering to donating to the many great organizations such as the Baton Rouge Area Foundation or the Second Harvest Foodbank. The road to recovery will be long but know Louisiana that we will be there for you.”
Tim isn’t the only star who has been spreading the word about Louisiana. Other stars who have urged fans to assist in relief efforts include Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift and Meghan Linsey, who was a runner-up on season 8 of NBC’s “The Voice.”
The Louisiana flood, which has been described as the worst natural disaster since 2012’s Hurricane Sandy, has killed more than a dozen people, displaced thousands of families and even ravaged at least 60,000 homes, according to Salon.com.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Louisiana at this time.
