While Craig Morgan is probably far from healing after news on the evening of July 11 that his 19-year-old son Jerry Greer had passed away as a result of a boating accident in Tennessee, there will come a time when he will be able to look at old family pictures – and he will find the strength to smile yet again.

Indeed, Craig’s love for his entire family has always been evident both through his words and actions, but also the pictures he would often share with his fans on his Instagram feed. “This is my world,” he wrote beside a family pic that he shared earlier this year.

“Jerry had an amazing heart, he was caring, and funny,” Allison Pendergrass, a close friend of Jerry’s, told The Tennessean. “He had his own way of doing things which people didn’t understand, but he was a beautiful soul and will forever hold a place in my heart.”

“His charisma and passion for sports made him one of the fiercest competitors at our school,” added Joey Holley, Principal of Dickson Country High School. “He was an outstanding and one-of-a-kind athlete. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers go out to his family.”
