Thomas Rhett’s wife Lauren reflects on her baby girl’s birthday Instagram/Laur_Akins

This has been a whirlwind year for Thomas Rhett and wife Lauren — both personally and professionally. The two high school lovebirds rarely have much time to reflect on the blessings that now reside with them each and every day. Yet, birthdays often are the perfect occasion to stop, take a deep breath and take a moment to appreciate all of God’s blessings.

One of those little blessings is named Willa Gray.

“My goodness Willa Gray, we have never prayed so hard for anything or anyone,” Lauren wrote on Nov. 2 alongside a series of pictures of her daughter over her short lifetime. “Now halfway across the world from where we first met, you’re turning two [years old] and you are better than my best dreams. God not only answered our prayers for over a year when you came home, but He WAY exceeded them by giving us you. I love getting to be your mama and watching you shine. Happy birthday to my first baby. I love you to the moon and stars my precious little one.”

It’s been quite a week of celebration for the family, which not only celebrated Willa Gray’s birthday at a party fit for a princess (or unicorn!), but also enjoyed a fun-filled Halloween.

While the fun is sure to continue, Thomas will have to go back to work soon, as he will perform at the upcoming CMA Awards Nov. 8 before heading overseas for a quick run of shows.
