Thomas Rhett posted an inspirational message to Instagram August 3 encouraging fans to be careful how they speak to one another. The stand-alone post appeared to be an excerpt from popular devotional book “Jesus Calling” and sparked kind comments from fans and almost 50,000 likes in two days.

The screen shot of the devotional passage he posted centered on being intentional with what we say and how we say it, admonishing, “Watch your words diligently. Words have such great power to bless or to wound.” Thomas’ caption was simply, “Good grief … SO true.”

It’s no secret that faith is important to Thomas, an unabashed family man who often publicly expresses his gratitude to God and posts photos and Instagram Stories about going to church or teaching his newly adopted daughter, Willa Gray, “Jesus Loves Me.” He and his wife, Lauren, are also longtime advocates for Christian nonprofit 147 Million Orphans.

The award-winning singer just announced the title of his new album, “Life Changes,” which will feature No. 1 hit “Craving You” and new single “Unforgettable.” The full-length is slated to drop Sept. 8. In the meantime, Thomas and Lauren are eagerly awaiting the arrival of another project—their second child, due any day now.
