Thomas Rhett just upped his country cred one more notch, securing his fourth number one hit with “Crash and Burn” on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase radio charts.

Yes, we said four.

Do you know how many longtime country music artists are just looking for one number one this year?

Take it from us – there are many.

And heck, the album the number one hit comes from isn’t even out yet, with Rhett’s “Tangled Up” not even set for release until Sept. 25. “‘Crash’ was a really fun way for me to introduce this album and for it to already be No. one is completely crazy,” said Rhett in a recent press release. “I want to give a huge thanks to everyone for taking a chance on this song and record so far – it’s just a piece of what makes up this new album and me, and I can’t wait to get the rest of it out there.”

If sitting on top of the charts wasn’t enough to gain some widespread acclaim, Rhett also received a CMA Awards nod last week, nominated for “New Artist of the Year” alongside newbie acts such as Kelsea Ballerini, Sam Hunt, Maddie & Tae and Chris Stapleton.
