What could Thomas Rhett’s newborn daughter possibly have in common with Blake Shelton? Well, TR’s recent Twitter post suggests a connection between baby Ada James’ name and Shelton’s origins. “Just realized @blakeshelton’s hometown may or may not have inspired our daughters name,” he posted.

Blake was born 40 years ago in tiny Ada, Oklahoma. The small town is the county seat of Pontotoc County, home to East Central University, and is the headquarters of the Chickasaw Nation. These days Blake has a ranch near Tishomingo and a vacation property on Lake Texoma, as well as other land and buildings scattered around his Okie home state. But Ada is where “The Voice” judge drew his first breath.

The connection to Blake probably wasn’t top of mind when TR and wife Lauren Akins chose the name for their new daughter, but knowing Blake, he’s likely to take credit.
