The biggest stars in music flew into New York City for “The 60th annual Grammy Awards” last weekend, including Thomas Rhett and his stunning wife of five years, Lauren Akins.
The 27-year-old country hit-maker was up for Best Country Album for his third studio album, “Life Changes.” And although he didn’t win, his evening was still eventful, as it served as a date night for the couple, who certainly deserved some time off from their parenting duties as mother and father to the two small daughters who joined their family last year, Willa Gray and Ada James.
As it turns out, the Grammys, held at Madison Square Garden, was just one of the many exciting parts of Thomas and Lauren’s visit to the Big Apple. During their weekend stay, the spouses also made an unplanned trip to the Empire State Building. To mark their adventure, they took to their respective Instagram pages with photos of their visit to the 102-story skyscraper landmark.
“1 a.m. spontaneous trip to the Empire State Building😂,” Thomas captioned a photo that shows him and Lauren posing in front of a photo of the large and iconic building with a group of friends.
Lauren, who also shared the same exact photo to her page, joked, “No sir, we’re not tourists …”
Lauren also shared an album on her page of the lovebirds’ Empire State experience. And these photos seriously look like a dream!
“Top of the Empire State Building in the snow at night ❄✨,” Lauren wrote, alongside a romantic photo where she’s posing with Thomas.
As you can see in the shot above, Lauren and Thomas seem so wrapped up in their happy moment, while smiling with their faces adorably pressed together. And, if you click to the right you’ll see another group photo before a third shot shows one more of the couple’s blissful romantic moment beneath the falling snow.
Of course, Thomas and Lauren couldn’t have gone too long without their precious babies in tow. After all, Willa and Ada are cute beyond belief!
“Such a fun NYC weekend away with him, but we’re dying to be back with our babies!!!” Lauren —still in her Grammy night makeup — captioned an accompanying photo of her and her husband appearing ready for take off. She added, “Nashville, here we coooommmeeeeee 😩😭🙌🏼💗💗💗💙😍😍😘.”
