This was absolutely beautiful.
Among the lush surroundings of the Sandals Ochi Beach Resort in Jamaica, country superstar Chris Young took to the stage to sing his romantic hit “Who I Am With You” to the most deserving of couples.
Marine Corps veterans Tatiana & Phillip McGill of San Antonio, Texas were one of six deserving military couples who were on hand during the Memorial Day Weekend “Boots on the Beach” benefit event. The couples were surprised with the vacation by Funjet Vacations. The trip was extra special to the McGills in particular, since the couple was married in 2005 by the justice of the peace ceremony, meaning that they never had a traditional wedding or honeymoon.
Who better to serenade you during your long-awaited first dance than Chris Young?
The weekend was part of an all out country music celebration to benefit the Boot Campaign, and ended up raising more than $10,000. In addition to Young, country stars in attendance included Jerrod Niemann, Tyler Farr, Logan Mize, Josh Dorr and Cam.
“Country music has always had deep ties with the men and women serving our nation,” remarked Paul Barnabee, Sony Music Nashville’s Senior Vice President, Marketing in a recent press release. “And on behalf of our artists and all of us at Sony Music Nashville, we were very proud to partner with Sandals Resorts, Funjet Vacations, Alliance Connection and the Jamaica Tourist Board to present an event whose benefits honor the true spirit of Memorial Day.”
