It was business as usual for young actress Alyvia Lind.
She traveled to the NBC offices with her family in town on July 13, thinking that she was meeting with some executives as part of her continuing audition process for the role of Dolly Parton in the upcoming original movie “Coat of Many Colors.”
But she could never fathom who would actually walk through the doors.
Of course, it was Dolly herself!
Parton was on hand to surprise a shocked Lind with the amazing news that she has been picked to play ‘little Dolly’ in the upcoming movie, which is based in Parton’s 1971 song and tells Parton’s personal rags-to-riches story.
“We auditioned many little girls and some great ones, but you just had that special little thing,” said Parton, who recently entered into a partnership with NBC for a series of ‘stand along TV movies’ based on Parton’s life. “My life and this story ‘Coat of Many Colors’ is very personal to me. Let’s get to work and let’s go make a movie!”
Wondering why Lind looks so familiar? The cutie has actually played the role of Faith Newman on the CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless” since 2011.
