A ton of country stars have done covers of Adele hits like “Hello” and “Someone Like You,” but this is the first country cover we’ve heard of her latest single, “Send My Love (To Your New Lover).”

David Nail included his take on the song on his new covers EP, “Uncovered,” and his version brings out a lot of the regret and sadness Adele’s more uptempo version glosses over.

David also admits taking on an Adele cover is an “extremely difficult task” since she “is the finest vocalist [he’s] ever heard.”

Says David, ” The first listen to this song when the album [“25”] was released blew me away, and when it came time to begin this “Uncovered” series, it was my definite first choice.”

David’s’ “Uncovered” EP is available at all digital outlets and includes his reworked versions of Elvis Presley’s “In the Ghetto,” The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” and Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight,” in addition to the Adele cover.

“Uncovered” serves as a preview to David’s new studio album, “Fighter,” due out July 15. It features his latest single, “Night’s on Fire.”
