This backstage a cappella performance of "Happy" proves just how good Rascal Flatts really is

Assembled in a room with more lockers than stars, country music trio Rascal Flatts gathered to rehearse their 2014 tour staple “Happy” a few months back and shocked us with their raw talent.

With a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos on the table, Sheryl Crow dancing around the floor, Big Machine Label Group head and future American Idol mentor Scott Borchetta and fellow country trio Gloriana standing inconspicuously in the background, the trio of Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney proceeded alongside their talented band with some hand clapping and impressively raw vocals on the song “Happy,” originally recorded by Pharrell Williams last year.

And yes, ”Happy” could pretty much sum up the feelings of the trio at the moment as they prepare to begin the first country residency “Rascal Flatts Vegas Riot!” at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas with nine shows starting February 25.

“We are thrilled to be playing such a storied venue as The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas,” said DeMarcus in a recent press release. “We’re so excited to do something so different for us. You will experience Rascal Flatts in a way you’ve never seen us before – up close, intimate and personal, and we promise you one thing, it’s going to rock!”
