With such a big talent, you’d think that pop star Kelly Clarkson would’ve put out a country album by now.
She can truly sing just about anything!
And like she has done numerous times, Kelly proved that during her 2012 concert in Murphy, California.
Taking the stage at the IronStone Winery, the first-ever “American Idol” winner prepared to channel a fan requested song. But before doing so she asked her fans, “Does anybody like country music?”
Through their wild cheers she replied, “I do too!”
She then added, “I’m Texan, so you kind of come out of the womb loving the cowboys and Texas music…. And I love the Dixie Chicks so this is why I picked this one.”
Clad in a gorgeous black dress and accompanied by an acoustic guitar and banjo player, the “Piece by Piece” singer slayed the trio’s 1998 breakthrough hit, “Wide Open Spaces” with her powerhouse pipes.
And, yes we absolutely loved it!
The Dixie Chicks kicked off their U.S. DCX MMXVI World Tour on June 1, in Cincinnati, Ohio. The tour trek runs through 50 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
As for Kelly, she recently welcomed a new bundle of joy into her family — baby boy, Remington Alexander Blackstock.
