The Oak Ridge Boys salute America with this amazing anthem

On March 15, the Grammy-winning country group The Oak Ridge Boys found themselves on a basketball court, with no plans to make a basket. Instead, they made an impression as they sang the National Anthem before the SEC Men’s Basketball Championship, which aired on ESPN.

It was just one of the many appearances that the Oak Ridge Boys have planned for the spring, which also includes the release of a brand new hymns and gospel favorites CD entitled “Rock of Ages.” The CD is now available at Cracker Barrel® Old Country Stores and will be available everywhere this May.

“We looked for familiar titles that we had never recorded,” said Oaks member Duane Allen on the band’s website. “Then we found some newer songs that fit within the framework of a hymns/gospel collection of great songs.”

Oak Ridge Boys fans will also want to keep a lookout for Joseph S. Bonsall’s new book, “On the Road with The Oak Ridge Boys,” set for release on May 1. “These ‘on the road’ stories span the four decades since our present group came together and will, hopefully, bring laughter and insight to all who read it—as well as relate the heartfelt appreciation we have for our fans and those who have worked along beside us for so many years,” Bonsall said in the same website post.
