12-year-old singing sensation Tegan Marie is back with a brand-new country cover. This time she’s taking on Luke Bryan’s most recent chart-topper, “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day,” which is just perfect for those carefree summer days.
Tegan tells Rare Country she’s a big fan of Luke, so covering this song was a natural choice.
She explains, “‘Huntin’ Fishin’ and Lovin’ Everyday’ is such a fun summer song that I love jamming to. Luke Bryan is also an amazing country artist and performer that I truly look up to. So, I hope he likes it!”
We’re guessing Luke is just like the rest of us and can’t believe how big a talent comes out of that tiny little 12-year-old. Her cover of Florida Georgia Line’s “H.O.L.Y.” made the duo “misty-eyed” and has gone on to be viewed more than 13 million times on Facebook.
The attention from Tegan’s viral video has led to some other big-time opportunities for Tegan. She’s set to perform the national anthem at the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team match against Costa Rica in Kansas City, Kansas on July 22. It will be the U.S. team’s last game before they head to Brazil for the 2016 Olympics.
Also, Tegan has earned a performance slot at the 2016 Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day in New York on Aug. 27. The tennis and entertainment event honors the late tennis star and humanitarian Arthur Ashe. Several artists who have performed at this event in the past before achieving superstardom include Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and Justin Bieber.
Now, that’s some good company.
