Artists such as Hunter Hayes, Lady Antebellum and Carrie Underwood all came home as big winners at this week’s People’s Choice Awards. Yet, it was Hunter who seemed to receive the most attention for one of the most gracious acceptance speeches of the night.
“That’s quite the category, and I don’t know what I am doing with this,” Hunter said as he clutched his award for “Favorite Male Country Artist,” in which he was up against country bulldogs such as Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan and Tim McGraw.
“I am so blessed to do what I love and thank you to you guys who give us the chance to do what we do.”
The win comes on the heels of Hayes’ announcement earlier this week that he will be hitting the road with Lady Antebellum and Sam Hunt for the Wheels Up 2015 Tour, kicking off May 1 in Lubbock, Texas.
Hunter also received much attention from his fandom not only for what trophy he was holding….but the vision in white he was kissing! As social media buzzed about the mystery woman, CMT.com questioned if the lucky girl could possibly be Nashville hair stylist Libby Barnes, who was Hunter’s date to the 2014 CMA Awards.
Sounds like love to me.
