The country music community is doing more than its fair share to make sure that the labor and delivery units of hospitals in Tennessee, Texas, Georgia, Arkansas and elsewhere across the United States are staying in business.
We’re sure they’d like to thank Zac Brown Band’s Coy Bowles for his recent contribution to their efforts.
Coy and his stunning wife, Kylie, just welcomed their second little girl, Millie Mercy, on Feb. 12. Millie weighed a healthy eight pounds and looks alert and happy to finally meet her parents, although Mom and Dad may be even happier.
In fact, Coy shared a photo on his Instagram page and there’s no denying their joy. He writes, “The Bowles family would like to introduce to you the amazing Millie Mercy Bowles. Born 2-12-18 weighing in at 8 lbs even. Guaranteed to rock the world. Momma and baby are wonderful.”
The couple gave birth to their first little girl, Hattie, in October of 2016, so the new sisters are just shy of a year and a half apart. That means that the Bowles household will soon be filled with a lot of giggles, hair bows and maybe even a pink pony?
Come on, Dad!
They’re still a few years away before those requests start coming in, so for now, Coy and Kylie will take advantage of having one toddler and a little “peanut” that can fit in her daddy’s hat.
You may know Coy best from his gig as a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist for Zac Brown Band, but he has a side hustle that makes his happy daddy face so much more meaningful.
Coy is also a children’s book author. He released his first title, “Amy Giggles—Laugh Out Loud” in 2012 and donated a portion of the proceeds from sales of the book to Zac’s Camp Southern Ground for children. In 2016, he published “Will Powers,” and in 2017, “When You’re Feeling Sick.” Each of the books addresses a specific issue and offers life lessons like having self-confidence, achieving your goals or having a positive attitude.
Soon, parents will be able to pick up his fourth book, “Behind the Little Red Door,” which encourages creativity. But this book also has a noteworthy purpose. It is being published in a partnership with Bright From the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. That means that 84,000 school children in Georgia will be able to enjoy a copy of “Behind the Little Red Door” in classrooms around the Peach Tree State.
Again, our heartfelt congratulations go out to Coy, Kylie, Hattie and especially little Millie Mercy, who is just starting her journey with her precious, new family.
