At 27 years old, country-turned-pop superstar Taylor Swift is certainly old enough to stand up for herself. But no matter how old their babies are, mamas often get their claws out when someone hurts their cubs.

Just ask Andrea Swift.

Andrea went up in front of a jury on August 9 to stand up for her superstar daughter, who is smack in the middle of a lawsuit and countersuit that claims that a Denver radio DJ allegedly groped her bottom at a pre-show meet-and-greet in 2013. “I knew what happened, I heard it from her,” Andrea told the jury. “I heard it from my daughter’s mouth. He sexually assaulted her, right there, that guy,” she added, pointing at the accused DJ, David Mueller, in the courtroom.

A photo of the alleged incident is part of the evidence being presented in court, and Andrea went on to say that “the second I saw it, I knew there was something horribly wrong, horribly wrong going on in that picture. We absolutely wanted to keep this private, but we didn’t want [Mueller] to get away with it.”

In other reports from the courtroom, Andrea was heard testifying, “I was upset to the point that I felt like I wanted to vomit and cry at the same time.” She also reportedly said that the incident “made me, as a parent, question why I taught her to be so polite.”

We pray that this painful case comes to a peaceful resolution soon.
