If you caught Sundance Head’s Top 10 performance on season 11 of “The Voice” on Nov. 28, you might have fallen to your knees.

Why? Because, he was just that good!

Sundance belted out Tom T. Hall’s religious-themed tune, “Me and Jesus.” In rehearsals he said, “For me, this song is about salvation.” While his song choice may have been a gutsy move, it paid off! In fact, he received a standing ovation from all four judges.

For his performance, Sundance wore a cowboy hat and sported a tamer look with a braided beard. The 37-year-old Texan dove into the faith-filled track with help from a backup band that was scattered on a simulated church alter. Toward the end of the song, Sundance brought the house down by turning the spirited track into an impressive, barn-burning hoedown.

“Oh my gosh. Sundance, you’ve got heart,” praised coach Alicia Keys, “I think you happen to take people’s hearts everywhere you go. I mean, bluegrass, blues, gospel, country, soul, it all is just in that same wheelhouse. I think that’s such a beautiful message the way that music just brings us all together no matter what.”

Adding to Alicia’s excitement Blake said, “I just want to congratulate you more than anything. We’ve never experienced any kind of performance like that ever in 11 seasons of doing this show. Not only the talent that we just experienced, but also the message of the song. I think more and more people have their own kind of relationship with God these days. They have their own personal way that they relate to God. I know I’m that way so congratulations man.”

“The Voice” airs Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC.
