Of all the country stars that have competed on “Dancing with the Stars” over the years, Kellie Pickler remains the only one to win the competition. She pulled that feat off in 2014 and brought that big Mirror Ball trophy home with her to Nashville.
The only thing though, that trophy never actually made it to the house Kellie shares with her hubby, songwriter Kyle Jacobs.
After she had a big homecoming party with the trophy at the Grand Ole Opry, the Mirror Ball was put on display at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Music City.
Kellie recently told us, “It’s never made it into my home. It went straight from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ to the Hall of Fame.”
When we asked Kellie if she wishes she could just kind of hang out with the trophy from time-to-time, she told us, “It doesn’t drink or anything, so I don’t know what we have in common. It shines. I try to shine, but it’s shinier than me.”
While it would be nice to hold the trophy every now and then, Kellie doesn’t feel like she’s missing out on anything by not having the award displayed in her home.
“I had so much fun being a part of the show,” Kellie added. “Those memories and all those dances are locked away up here and in here. I don’t need anything tangible to know who I am or what I do.”
In fact, Kellie offered to let us take the Mirror Ball trophy home, but it wouldn’t come without a price.
“I may make you dance for it,” Kellie told us with a laugh.
Game on, Kellie Pickler! Just like fans voted for Kellie during her “DWTS” run, they can also vote for her for female artist of the year in the inaugural Rare Country Awards. Winners will be announced Dec. 15.
