Country music superstar Blake Shelton performed solo on season 11 of NBC’s “The Voice” on Tuesday, Dec. 6.
The veteran coach took the stage during the show’s eliminations round, where the Top 8 contestants got trimmed down to four in preparation for the final phase of the competition. When it came time for Blake to perform, he had nothing to worry about since his last and only competitor, Sundance Head, already scored a spot in the finale.
For his performance, Blake channeled “A Guy With A Girl” — the latest single off of his highly personal album, “If I’m Honest.”
In this video, Blake shines onstage with his sexy smile and adoringly cute dimples. He leans into the microphone and charms the audience with his affectionate lyrics on the upbeat tune. Midway through the song, he walks toward the fans to feel the energy from the cheering crowd.
“A Guy With A Girl,” co-penned by writers Ashley Gorley and Bryan Simpson, could easily describe Blake’s current situation. And fans might compare the sweet lyrics to his relationship with Gwen Stefani. The catchy love song follows Blake’s previous hits, “Came Here to Forget,” “Saviors Shadow” and “She’s Got A Way With Words,” as the fourth single from “If I’m Honest.”
Earlier in the season, Blake performed “Dream On” by Aerosmith with fellow coaches Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys. More recently, he appeared onstage with Team Blake on the song “The Heart of Rock & Roll” by Huey Lewis and the News.
While Blake has only Sundance left in this season’s competition on “The Voice,” he’s still confident. In fact, he remains the leader in the history of the singing competition with four wins so far. Tune into “The Voice” on Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC to see if Blake will continue his reign.
Of note, Blake Shelton is nominated for a Rare Country Award for male artist of the year. Vote now at RareCountryAwards.com. Winners will be announced on Dec. 15.
