Scotty McCreery set to release his first book about his musical journey…and God’s role in it

Many might say that country music artist Scotty McCreery, who is only 22 years old, has not lived enough life to actually write a book about it. Yet, with a large and devoted group of fans that have followed him since his very first days on “American Idol,” it ends up that McCreery already has a story to tell.

And this just might be the perfect time to tell it.

The country music favorite from North Carolina will release his debut book entitled “Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream” on May 3. The book will tell the story of McCreery’s rise to fame, along with touching on the ideals that he has always lived by.

“God gave me a voice and America gave me a chance,” says McCreery in a recent press release. “This book is about those two things, and about the amazing journey that began the moment I decided to say two words about this show I knew and loved. ‘Why not?’”

The book will be available for pre-order starting on November 15. McCreery is also set to release his next album in 2016, which will feature his current single “Southern Belle.”
