Rising country star Chris Janson takes his record-crushing boat all the way to New York City

It can be weird to refer to Chris Janson as a rising star in country music, considering that he just made his 100th appearance on the famed Grand Ole Opry.

Yet, since a good majority of country music fans from around the world have yet to hear Janson’s undeniable brand of good ole working class music, let’s continue to call him that — a rising star.

And undoubtedly, that star just got a whole lot brighter.

Janson travelled to the Big Apple for his television debut on NBC’s Today show June 4, wowing hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb with his no-nonsense anthem “Buy Me a Boat,” which is currently idling in the top 30 on the country music charts.

“It’s a milestone mark in my career,” said Janson in a recent press release.

“This is something I’ve always wanted to do, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Glad we’re taking the boat to New York City and all across the country.”

Thanks to his newfound success, Janson will spend much of the summer touring assorted festivals and headlining dates in addition to over 20 shows alongside country powerhouse Toby Keith on his “Good Times & Pick Up Lines” tour.
