There’s no doubt that celebrities lead different lifestyles compared to us. Not only do they have glam squads on hand to style their hair and apply their makeup, but they also seem to age gracefully!
And, one country singer that seems to be turning back the clock on her looks is Reba McEntire.
In an interview with Newbeauty.com, the 61-year-old star — who launched her own Reba Beauty line in 2015 — opened up about her go-to beauty products and fashion secrets as a red-haired icon.
Needless to say, we’re dying to try them!
“I’ve found that jewel tones really flatter my hair color and light skin tone,” said Reba, admitting that she’s omitted colors that just don’t jive with her complexion. “As for beauty trends, I’ve done them all! Bright cheek colors, heavy contouring, big hair jacked up to Jesus — you name it, I’ve done it.”
The Queen of Country Music, who says she’s not too fond of powder-based foundation, swears by products like “matte foundation,” “Brett Brow powder in Redhead” and “Novir” skin cosmetics. However, she’s been known to bend the rules now and then when it comes to grabbing that lip shade.
“I like a darker lip,” Reba confessed, “My makeup artist said it would be best to lighten up the color on my lips and add shine. I’ve taken his advice and I like the subtler look. But I sometimes sneak in a darker lip in the evening.”
Even though Reba has an army of hairstylists and makeup artists at her fingertips, she proves time and time again that she’s super humble.
“Let’s face it, we all age,” said Reba, “Because of social media, I think we’re under the microscope more. We’re being compared, analyzed and talked about a lot more than Loretta, Tammy and Patsy ever were. They talk about our fashion, skin care and makeup techniques way more than they ever did 20 or 30 years ago. Back then, you only saw that in glamour photo shoot books. And that was only a very glamorous, silky photo!”
More recently, Reba put down the blush brush to flaunt her fashion flavor with a brand-new retail line. She teamed up with Cracker Barrel to launch “Rockin’ R by Reba,” which features a collection of Oklahoma-inspired home goods, toys, clothing, jewelry and more.
On Aug. 3, Reba took to Twitter to let fans know that the line is now available.
