Rascal Flatts’ Joe Don Rooney’s lullaby to his daughter is something you have to hear Associated Press

We’ve all sung our kids to sleep. Many of us have taken a popular song, hushed it down and turned it into a lullaby.

Joe Don Rooney of Rascal Flatts is no different.

One of the drawbacks to being a successful musician is that it robs you of so much family time. Tours, recording and various other obligations like radio station visits, rehearsals and promotions all come with the territory, and none of those things can happen from home. Over the years, Rooney has learned this all too well so he takes full advantage of every moment he has at home.

We may see him as a superstar in Rascal Flatts but at home, he’s just a dad doing dad things like singing his babies to sleep. Rooney recently posted an Instagram clip of him singing “God Bless The Broken Road,” which was released by Rascal Flatts in 1994. He is also playing his guitar oh-so-lightly to his daughter, who is absolutely zonked out in bed. It’s a quick clip (probably because she’s already sleeping) but the payoff is the little forehead kiss he gives her at the end of the song.

She's an angel! #singing #my #rocky #to #sleep
