RaeLynn shares an update with fans about her beloved pooch Instagram/@raelynnofficial

The new year got off to a rocky start for sweet country star RaeLynn.

After performing in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, for a Smoky Mountain New Year’s Eve concert, the “Love Triangle” singer was heartbroken when her chihuahua, Dolly, became startled by the traditional celebratory fireworks and fled the star’s bus. In spite of their best efforts to locate the fur baby, RaeLynn was forced to return to Nashville without her friend.

She did, however, make an impassioned plea to anyone who lives in the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge areas to be on the lookout for the fearful pup. With temperatures in the single digits and the possibility of wildlife from the region eyeing the pup as prey, it was a tense situation.

But word spread quickly, and it didn’t take long for RaeLynn and one of her dear friends to return to the area after multiple Dolly sightings were reported. Although they didn’t find the pup, they left her own blankets and bedding out to bait the sweet pooch. And when RaeLynn reluctantly went back to Nashville again, she had an entire community, including the staff at The Island Pigeon Forge entertainment complex, searching for her fur baby.

Thank goodness for happy endings.

On Jan. 3, three days of frigid temperatures and the potential for wild animal attacks later, Dolly was located and rescued by a crew of amazing, big-hearted folks from The Island and the American Eagle Foundation. And RaeLynn is over the moon.

In a post on her Instagram page, she shared the good news, writing, “My heroes. Matt, Caitlin, Amy, Josh and not pictured Chrissy also Cassie who spotted her in front of her store. Thank you to @theislandpf for having the best group of people! They didn’t want the $5,000 reward, they were just looking out of the kindness of their hearts. The first of many miracles in 2018. Dolly survived three nights in single-digit weather. She is a fighter and my little badass. Mommy is on her way baby. 💪”

What a relief! And that pup is a badass, indeed!

RELATEDIt was a teary-eyed standing ovation after this Dierks Bentley performance for his late best friend

This isn’t the first time that a good Samaritan helped a country star find a pet who was startled by loud noises.

Back in 2013, Dierks Bentley’s beloved pup, Jake, jumped a fence and ran from home when thunderstorms swept through the area. After sharing his plight on social media and asking for anyone who spotted the beautiful white dog to contact him, the entire community, including Dierks’ label president, began a search party. Fortunately, a day later, Jake was found by another dog lover and returned to his family.

We know that RaeLynn is breathing easier as she makes her way back to pick up Dolly, but we also bet her and husband Josh’s other dog, Jazz, will be happy to see her pal come back home, too.

Here’s some video of RaeLynn and Dolly’s joyful reunion.
