Thomas Rhett’s wife is keeping it real, but this new pic is still beyond adorable Instagram/@thomasrhettakins

There is a lot said about perception versus reality on social media. Some stars paint rosy pictures of perfect lives and, thanks to filters, they’re always coifed and with perfect makeup, and life is a bowl of cherries. But lately, we’ve noticed a surge of celebs, including country stars like Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Lines’s Tyler Hubbard, who are all about keeping it real, especially when their babies are involved. Thomas Rhett’s beautiful wife, Lauren Akins, is part of that authentic tribe.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Lauren is a natural beauty, but even she has her days of being perfectly imperfect, and she points it out in a new Instagram photo. But honestly, Lauren, we didn’t notice.

The sweet new picture she posted on Jan. 26 is mostly focused on Lauren and T-Rhett’s daughter, Ada James, and talk about natural beauty, holy wow!

Lauren explains the photo and the absence of older daughter Willa Gray by writing, “One more hug from my baby before we head off to NYC for Grammy weekend.😩💗💗 Willa Gray was still asleep so my Ada James snuggles had to be enough this morning to hold me over all weekend😘”

She then points out, “(Yep, that’s mascara under my eye. Big whoop. No it will not be there on Sunday, hopefully.” And sure enough, there’s a little smudge of mascara under her eye.

What lady hasn’t been there?

But it’s Lauren’s final remark, that actually comes from her talented and handsome husband that made our eyebrows raise to the sky. She adds, “Editing caption [because] TR just goes, ‘I don’t get how she looks just like me but she’s still pretty …’ 😂”

What!? Although we can definitely see traces of Lauren in baby Ada, she is pretty much a carbon copy of her famous dad. But seriously, either way she couldn’t lose, could she? Even when Thomas applies crazy filters to his bride, she’s still stunning.

She might be most beautiful, though, when she’s snuggling her babies.
