Pay close attention to the Super Bowl commercials — You might catch Blake Shelton like you've never seen him before

In the past month, we have seen Blake Shelton resemble a farm hunk, a Family Feud contestant and a member of a trio that made the song “Wishin’ Boot” famous.

And now, get ready to set your eyes on Blake Shelton, the gladiator?

In some sort of futuristic cage match, Blake Shelton takes on his fellow “The Voice” judges Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams in a new promo for the new season of “The Voice,” returning to the airwaves on February 23.

In the one minute promo set to air during the airing of Super Bowl XLIX, Shelton glares at the crowd assembled above and underneath the soaring voice of an announcer as they step into what looks to be a gladiator ring.

“In a far distant future where only the strong survive,” the voice bellows. “One tradition lives on.”

That tradition could just be the method of blind auditions that the singing reality show has been based on since its inception back in 2011.

“Your attention please, singing time is here,” echoes “The Voice” host Carson Daly. “Let the battle begin!”

And by the looks of it, Shelton is more than ready.
