One of country music’s favorite couples is celebrating their special day Instagram/_jennamichelle_

It’s easy to look at any married couple making a living within country music and assume that it’s a simple task. It can be easy to assume that the travel doesn’t wear on them, and the crowds are always awesome and the late nights never tire them out.

But these assumptions — well, for the most part — they are wrong.

Ask any artist, or the life partner of any artist, and you will quickly find out that the lifestyle can be difficult, which makes things such as three-year wedding anniversaries pretty darn special.

“January 8th — Hands down the BEST.DAY.EVER!,” Dee Jay Silver’s wife Jenna wrote on her Instagram page on that date, captioning photos from their picturesque wedding. “On this day in 2015, John and I said our vows on the beach in the Dominican, and exactly one year later, on this day, we found out our best little buddy was on his way. Today is a great day for celebrations! Happy anniversary to my best friend and the greatest father to our son I could ever dream up! Love you so much, baby!”

In her post, Jenna refers to Dee Jay by his real name, John. And the “little buddy” she refers to is their son, Wake Silver Perdue, who was born on Sept. 1, 2016.

“Hard to believe this was taken three years ago today,” Dee Jay Silver wrote on his own Instagram page alongside another stunning pic from their nuptials. “Happy anniversary @_jennamichelle_. You make every day amazing!”

Indeed, these two had no clue as to what the future looked like on their wedding day, or how Wake would change both of their lives for the infinitely better. In fact, both Dee Jay and Jenna’s Instagram feeds are full of their adorable, red-headed little boy, who just seems to get cuter with every passing day.

But marriage isn’t always easy. Inevitably, life throws every couple its share of challenges, some of which do their best to tear you down to your very core. And one of Dee Jay and Jenna’s biggest challenges and hardships came on that fateful day in October of 2017 when Dee Jay walked onstage with Jason Aldean just moments before gunfire would begin at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, ultimately taking the lives of 58 country music fans, injuring nearly 500 others and forever changing the lives of countless more. It was on that night that Wake was on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel with a caregiver, just steps from the shooter and far too far away from his mama and daddy.

“When we finally got to him, I held him until six in the morning,” Dee Jay told “Entertainment Tonight” last fall about reuniting with his son. “I tweeted, ‘Watching the Vegas sun coming up.’ I’ve done it many times, don’t get me wrong, but that time, holding my son and dead silence. I’ll never forget, dead silence in Las Vegas, and just having my kid sitting on my shoulder.”

So yes, this anniversary was extra special, and for good reason. Congratulations you two.
