Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines is pretty philosophical these days following the breakup of her marriage to longtime husband, Adrian Pasdar. Over the last few weeks, Natalie has traded in her sharp-witted barbs against President Trump and country radio for more reflective Instagram posts like the one below.
It’s a shot of the ocean, presumably taken by Natalie herself. The caption reads, “I was just a simple girl that just wanted to be loved. Everything else just seemed like a lucky bonus. #i’msuchadope #butagratefuldope#somepeoplehaverealproblems.”
The post is a little cryptic, but hopeful. We’re not sure if she’s talking about her personal life, her band’s famous split with country music that took place more than 10 years ago or all of the above.

Sometimes life can seem so out of one's hands and I hate that. Honestly y'all, I have 8 days left in paradise and I'm scared as Hell to go back to real life. Still trying to feel strong enough. Send me good vibes:) I'm gonna need them. #peaceandlove #peaceandlove #strength
The post follows another photo Natalie posted of a waterfall with a much more specific request for her fans.
In that one, she writes, “Sometimes life can seem so out of one’s hands and I hate that. Honestly y’all, I have eight days left in paradise and I’m scared as hell to go back to real life. Still trying to feel strong enough. Send me good vibes:) I’m gonna need them. #peaceandlove #peaceandlove #strength.”
