Oh, that had to hurt.

Country newcomer Maren Morris, who is making a big splash with her debut hit, “My Church,” just had a tonsillectomy. The aftermath wasn’t pretty.

After she sailed off to what she called “Vicodin dreams,” Maren woke up and decided to take a look at her throat post-surgery.

She writes on Twitter, “I just took a flashlight to look at my throat and that was the worst idea ever. My throat looks like the Red Wedding.”

Maren knows a tonsillectomy will take a while to get over, but she’s hoping it helps her avoid getting sick all the time. She’s releasing her debut album, “Hero,” in just one month, and her opening spot on Keith Urban’s Ripcord Tour starts June 2 in Kansas City, Kansas. That means her voice has got to be ready for a whole lot of singing this summer.

Maren reached out to her fans on May 3 saying, “Thank you for all your well-wishes since my tonsillectomy yesterday. Crossing my fingers this is a swift recovery!”

Get well soon, Maren!
