Miranda Lambert hints that new music may not be far away Instagram/@idyllwind

Not gonna lie, we get pretty excited when we hear that an artist is writing music for a new project. Of course, it makes the wait to hear those new tunes miserably long, but that’s OK. We’re prepared to hunker down because Miranda Lambert just hinted that she’s working on new music.

But is it for her?

In a post on her Instagram page, the Texas-bred spitfire shared a photo where you can see an obvious guitar, a glass of wine, notebook and pen. But unless you’re a longtime fan of Ran, you may not realize that those aren’t kitchen tiles, but rather shower tiles! She explains in the caption, “I sing (and write …. and drink) in the shower. #andsoitbegins #music #maybepistolannies💗 #songstarts #acoustics”

OK, so whoomp, there it is. Snuggled in among the clever hashtags, Miranda hints that this new song she is working on might be for her group, Pistol Annies.

Ummm … yeah. We aren’t mad about it.

It has been nearly five years since Pistol Annies released their sophomore album, “Annie Up,” in May of 2013. But the three ladies who make up this spicy trio—Miranda, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley—haven’t been slackers by any stretch.

Ashley’s incredible “Like A Rose” album had come out just a few months before “Annie Up,” but in 2015 she released her third solo studio album, “The Blade,” which received a Grammy nomination in 2016. She also collaborated with pal Blake Shelton on the chart-topping hit, “Lonely Tonight.”

But it wasn’t just work, work, work for Ashley. Late in 2013, she tied the knot with handsome MLB pitcher John Danks, and last July she and John welcomed their first baby, a son named Dalton.

Ashley also recently hinted on social media at big things ahead in 2018, including a new record, in this photo montage …

Angaleena also kicked out a couple of projects since “Annie Up”: 2014’s critically acclaimed “American Middle Class” and the equally brilliant “Wrangled” from 2017. The sassy brunette, who looks like she was plucked from the nose cone of a WW2 bomber, was also busy pounding the pavement taking her music across the United States and around the world.

She has played late night talk shows, clubs and theaters, fairs, festivals and National Finals Rodeo. But lucky are the fans that have caught this talented beauty at an intimate songwriter’s night.

Following the release of “Annie Up,” Miranda produced two more incredibly successful solo albums, 2014’s “Platinum” and 2016’s intensely personal double album, “The Weight of These Wings.” She’s also scored more than a dozen major industry awards, and when it comes to touring, Ran is tough to keep up with! Her road work includes five of her own headlining tours (and currently on No. 6), one opening slot on Kenny Chesney’s “Spread the Love Tour,” a co-headlining gig at the U.K. and Ireland’s C2C: Country to Country festival in 2016, and another tour coming up later this year with Little Big Town.

We need a nap.

Of course, Miranda’s personal challenges have been well documented, but what we love most is that she seems to be happy, healthy, inspired and feeling creative.

So bring it on, Miranda. We’re ready for a new Pistol Annies project and/or a new solo project from you. And Ashley and Angaleena, that goes for y’all, too!

Girl power!
