Looks like Miranda Lambert and her gal pals took a famous question from the musical “Chicago,” literally: “Come on babe, why don’t we paint the town?”
The country beauty and her squad arrived in New York City on Jan. 29 for a little work—and some play time—in the city that never sleeps, and it looks like it was a really great time!
Of course you can’t spend time in NYC and not see a Broadway show. Ran and the girls hit up a classic—”Chicago” at the Ambassador Theatre, and from the looks of it, they loved it!
“Chicago … ‘And All That Jazz!’ #NYC #work/play #broadway #lovedit❤,” Miranda captioned an Instagram photo of the group taken in front of the theater marquee.
We had a feeling she would. The bold and sassy boss ladies of the famous musical are no doubt Ran’s cup of tea.
One fan left a pretty cute comment that made us chuckle: “Bringing country to the Big Apple! But one question, where’s the fringe?”
That’s a fair question—but it is NYC in January!
We have to admit that we missed Miranda at “The 60th Annual Grammy Awards” this year. But sometimes a girl just needs some time off, especially with two tours coming up this year.
The last time Ran checked in on social media before her New York trip was on Grammy Sunday, Jan. 28, when she was at home with her beloved horses.
“The place I find peace and strength. My happy place,” she captioned that photo. “Last weekend off for a while,” she added. “Back at it next week. #livinlikehippiestour #farmlife #recharged #unicornkingdom”
We’re glad she got to have some important rest and relaxation. And though she had to leave her fur babies behind for this current trip, they’re never too far away, at least not if the New York hotel she’s staying in has anything to say about it …
“Um, I just arrived to this warm welcome in my hotel room! I was so sad to leave them today. This made my day! 💗#NYC #mymutts”
Now that is just too sweet.
It’s always nice to be have a little bit of home with you, especially when you’re going to be away from your real home for a while.
“The Livin’ Like Hippies Tour” is currently rolling with special guest Jon Pardi. This summer, Miranda is co-headlining “The Bandwagon Tour” with Little Big Town.
In case you won’t have the chance to see Miranda on tour anytime soon, don’t worry—the Country Music Association and its “CMA Songwriter’s Series” teamed up with PBS’ “Front and Center” for a unique concert experience with Miranda and songwriters Natalie Hemby, Shane McAnally and Luke Dick, who all contributed to her double-Platinum album “The Weight of These Wings.”
The episode that features Miranda is set to air Friday, Feb. 2. Check your local listings on your PBS station for airtimes!
