We are just days away from Christmas, so most of the nation is in the middle of buying and wrapping presents and attending one holiday party after the other. It helps to have a companion to make it through all those Christmas commitments.

That’s why Miranda Lambert recruited one of her many rescue dogs, Bellamy, to help her get in the holiday spirit this week. The country superstar posted a photo of her pup with a red bow on its head sitting next to some wrapping paper and ribbon.

Miranda writes, “Jingle ‘Bells’… Bellamy helped me wrap gifts tonight. No matter how hard I try to get ahead of it and be ready for Christmas, I always find myself tangled in tinsel. At least I have a little elf for help. #happyHOWLidays #MerryChristMutts.”

Though she was preparing for Christmas, we have a feeling Miranda was not listening to Christmas music while wrapping those presents. She told Rare Country earlier this year that she only likes to listen to Christmas music on the few days surrounding Dec. 25. That means we probably won’t be getting a “Christmas with Miranda” album anytime soon.

When she does listen to Christmas music, Miranda goes for Mariah Carey’s classic holiday album, as well as her pal Kelly Clarkson’s Christmas offering, “Wrapped in Red.”

Though she likely won’t be gracing us with any Christmas tunes, Miranda will deliver an exciting musical treat in 2018. She’s just been announced as a performer on the Grammy’s salute to Elton John taping Jan. 30 in New York City. “Elton John: I’m Still Standing — A Grammy Salute” will also feature performances from Little Big Town, Keith Urban and Maren Morris as well as a few other high-profile pop stars. The concert will air on CBS later in 2018.

One more thing: This Christmas season, Miranda invites all of her fans to help out shelter dogs across the country through her MuttNation Foundation. She’s launched the MuttNation Citizens program for everyone who donates $25 or more to the foundation. Members receive a Certificate of Citizenship signed by Miranda, a picture of their pet in the foundation’s “Dog Park” and a few other perks. Check out the details here.
