Miranda Lambert says she’s "not afraid of whatever else is coming my way" Instagram/@mirandalambert

Miranda Lambert went through a lot of emotions making her latest album, “The Weight of These Wings.” She’d just split up with her first husband, Blake Shelton, when she dug in and started writing. Love found her again in the fall of 2015 when she met and fell for singer-songwriter Anderson East.

Through it all, Miranda found inspiration in pouring her heart and soul into her music.

In this December 2016 Instagram video featuring her song, “Dear Old Sun,” Miranda says, “I have so much more learning to do and so much more time to spend on honing my craft, but this inspires me, this whole process, because I know that you are able to use things in your life for your art’s sake and for your heart’s sake.”

Throughout the process of making “The Weight of These Wings,” Miranda teamed up with old friends, like Ashley Monroe and Gwen Sebastian, as well as some new collaborators to write and record the 24 songs that made the cut. That creative process brought a lot of healing to Miranda.

She adds, “You’re able to share in that with people [who] you love and care about, and they’re willing to share in it with you. It makes me not afraid of whatever else is coming my way, because if it’s great, I’ll be ready for it. And if it’s bad, I’ll be ready for it.”
