Two of country music’s defining voices just got together for a collaboration this past weekend. Miranda Lambert’s boyfriend, Anderson East, is on the road for select shows on Chris Stapleton’s current tour. Since Miranda was out on the road with Anderson, Chris brought her up to sing a little bit of his song, “Fire Away.”

Video of the performance has made its way to YouTube, and it’s quite exciting to see Miranda standing beside Chris’s wife and onstage partner, Morgane, singing along as Chris wails on the song.

Unfortunately, Miranda doesn’t take any big breakout moments during this performance, but we know Chris and Miranda’s voices sound great together because he’s been featured on several of her songs over the years.

Just take a listen to “Nobody’s Fool” from Miranda’s 2011 album, “Four the Record.” Chris wrote the song, and that’s him harmonizing with Miranda on the track.

And then there’s this little slice of country music heaven, “Hard Staying Sober,” from Miranda’s 2014 release, “Platinum.”

It’s enough to make you dream of a full-fledged Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton duets album, isn’t it?

That project is a ways off, should it ever happen. Miranda is still riding high from her 2016 double album, “The Weight of These Wings,” which just went platinum. Chris also picked up a platinum certification this year for his album, “From A Room: Volume 1.” We expect “From A Room: Volume 2” to be released sometime in the coming months.
