We’ve been waiting for this news for a little while now, but leave it to Miranda Lambert to announce that she is engaged in the most unconventional way.
Of course, the proposal itself was also a little unconventional.
Miranda appeared onstage at her show in Hartford, Connecticut on Aug. 20 sporting a new piece of jewelry on her left hand ring finger. She then announced that she got engaged earlier.
Only it wasn’t to her boyfriend, R&B singer Anderson East.
In this video, Miranda reveals that during her meet & greet earlier that day, a handsome 6-year-old named Sebastian properly asked for her hand in marriage and even presented the country star with an engagement ring.
And while we’re certain Miranda has broken a few hearts, she wasn’t about to break this little one’s, so she told him yes… in 25 years.
The sound on the video may be a little muffled, but according to other tweets from fans at the show, Miranda also said it was the best proposal she had ever received. Ouch!
Sure, we’re all anxious for Miranda to find her happily-ever-after, but keep in mind that she and Anderson just went public with their relationship less than a year ago, so there really is no rush for the couple to tie the knot. Miranda is just 32 and Anderson is 28, and they’ve been pretty discreet about their relationship, except for a few photos on their socials. It seems likely that they would treat big news with the same amount of discretion.
Oh, and congratulations Sebastian! See you in 25 years.
