George Strait is spearheading a benefit concert in his hometown of San Antonio to help raise money for victims of Hurricane Harvey. The devastating storm battered Strait’s home state of Texas, so he’s recruited fellow Texans Miranda Lambert, Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen to perform at the special show on Tuesday, September 12. Reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year Chris Stapleton is also on the bill.
The concert will take place at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, and tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster. Select portions of the concert will air nationally on the “Hand in Hand; A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief” telethon broadcasting on all major networks September 12 at 8 p.m. ET with a replay on the West Coast at 8 pm. PT.
The telethon will also feature appearances from Blake Shelton, Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Beyoncé and many more.
Proceeds from the telethon will go to various charities in the Houston area as well as RebuildTX.org, an organization set up to help Hurricane Harvey relief efforts through Comic Relief, Inc.
