There is something about this little girl that makes us think that many big things are about to happen to her.
Whether it’s her voice, her songwriting talents or just the way she seems to remind us of a certain Miss Taylor Swift back in the day, Grace VanderWaal may just turn into the biggest star coming out of the “America’s Got Talent” stable.
And for good reason.
On Aug. 24, Grace was voted into the semi-finals of the talent competition show after her dynamic performance of her original song, “Beautiful Thing.” In fact, her performance garnered some big-time compliments from the “AGT” judges.
“There is something so sweet and charming about you and so real,” said judge Simon Cowell, who gave her a rare standing ovation. “I am going to predict we’re all going to remember the moment in years to come when we saw Grace sing live for the first time.”
During her first “AGT” go-around earlier this season, Grace wowed them all with another original song, titled “I Don’t Know My Name,” which received the elusive golden buzzer from judge Howie Mandel. Each judge may only press the golden buzzer once each season to send an act straight to the live shows.
“You are a superstar… you’re the best thing I’ve ever seen on this show,” Howie said of the tween, whose audition videos have racked up more than 100 million YouTube views to date. He said she might have the potential to be “bigger than Taylor Swift. I predict you are the biggest star to ever come out of this show.”
