Carrie Underwood had a huge night ahead of her on Nov. 2. As host of The 50th Annual CMA Awards, the country superstar knew the pressure would be on as she readied herself for a three-hour marathon of jokes, performances and heartfelt moments. Add to that that she was up for a number of awards, and you can see why Carrie might have needed husband Mike Fisher by her side for a little bit of love and a whole bunch of support.
Yet, Mike was nowhere to be found, and for a good reason.
The important member of the Nashville Predators hockey team was on the road and had to miss the awards show that his wife was such a pivotal part of. Yet, Mike was eager to let his wife know how he felt about her accomplishments during the special night.
“Very proud of you for winning female vocalist of the year,” Mike captioned a gorgeous picture of his wife on the CMA Awards red carpet. “Wish I could be there to celebrate! God has given you an incredible gift and you continue to inspire me by the way you use it for Him. Love you! “
Is he adorable or what?
