Meet the country cutie who just scored the first number one song of his career YouTube/Screenshot

There have been many ‘first-evers’ for Michael Ray this week.

First off, the Florida native marked his first-ever national morning appearance, performing on “Good Morning America” August 11.

Secondly, the dark-haired cutie will celebrate his first-ever number one “Kiss You in the Morning” this week.

And lastly, country music’s latest tattooed crooner will become the first male to have his debut single go to number one this year.

All of this makes for a darn good week for Michael Ray, don’t you think?

“Having my debut single go No. 1 is something I’ve imagined and worked for my entire life,” said Ray in a press release. “This dream started when I was 9 years old singing in my grandpa’s country band in Eustis, FL. Music connects people like nothing else and I’m blessed I get to go out onstage every night and hopefully make people forget about their worries, at least for a few hours. I can’t say thank you enough to everyone who has helped me make this happen and to everyone who has supported me and my music to get me to this place.”

And it looks as Ray’s star is only going to get brighter in the months ahead. Not only will Ray be featured on Kip Moore’s Wild Ones tour come October, but he will also make yet another return performance to the Grand Ole Opry on September 1.
