Celebrating his birthday on July 8, the towering country music powerhouse’s timing couldn’t have been any better as he released a brand-new single, entitled “A Few More Cowboys,” with lyrics that seem to almost perfectly line up with how everyone is feeling about the tragic events of the last few days.

Shared with fans back in June during a concert, the song touches on the search for “simplicity in these difficult times,” with lyrics ranging from “with a few more cowboys, there’d be a lot less outlaws,” “with a few more amens, be lot less bad calls,” and “a few more yes ma’ams, be a lot less yes men.”

Co-written by Toby himself, the song is sure to become a crowd favorite as the Oklahoma native tours the country on his Toby Keith Interstates & Tailgates Tour presented by Ford F-Series, which runs throughout the month of October. And the song serves as yet another example of the good that Toby does through his music, with his recent 13th Annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic raising nearly $1.18 million for his OK Kids Korral, which helps support sick children and their families.
