It’s without a doubt that Martina McBride is one of the strongest and most powerful singers in country music. Hardly does she ever slip up on her songs and rarely does she ever forget the words.
But, there are moments onstage where even the biggest stars mess up on their performances. And, it just goes to show that not only are they human, but they also can have an off day.
According to Martina, her off day came on Sept. 6 during her performance on “Live With Kelly.” The star was on the show to share information about her upcoming tour and show dates for the Sarah Cannon Band Against Cancer. She also sang her latest song “Just Around the Corner” from her “Reckless” album.
As you can see in this video, the 50-year-old songstress stuns in an all-black ensemble. She seems to have complete control over the verses of the song up until the very end. Martina sings the words, “just around the corner” and then suddenly goes silent. To us, it was a minor flub that you’d miss unless you paid super close attention. But, to an award-winning singer like Martina, who has perfectly slayed countless of other songs with her powerhouse voice, this one just wasn’t her best.
In fact, following her appearance on the show, Martina felt compelled enough to post her thoughts on Twitter. She wrote, “When you have to edit your song for TV and you forget the ending…oh well. I still had fun @LiveKelly” along with a blushing emoji.
While Martina may have caught her own mistake, fans didn’t seem to notice — or mind. They still love Martina just as much as we do!
Martina is preparing to embark on her Love Unleashed Tour, which kicks off on Oct. 14 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
