Luke Bryan can certainly entertain a humongous crowd!

He proved that when he surprised his fans with an impromptu version of the national anthem during the Faster Horses Festival in Brooklyn, Michigan, on July 23.

Luke chose to sing the patriotic song as a way to honor the brave servicemen and servicewomen who continue to fight for our American freedoms.

“I want to salute our military, our armed forces, our troops and those who keep us free,” Luke told the roaring crowd before delivering the famous tune. “I’ve never seen a more patriotic festival in my life. Thank you!”

He also hilariously told the fans, “You are the craziest, wildest, demented, sexual … y’all are just weird as shit.”

After Luke’s little speech, the audience showed off its pride by waving around hand-held American flags. Fans also joined their voices together in an epic “U-S-A!” chant ahead of the country superstar’s performance of the challenging anthem.

Despite previously saying that his voice was “a little screwed up” from performing four shows in a row, and admitting that he’d been drinking since that morning, Luke gave it his all. “I started drinking beer at 9:45 this morning because I know y’all were drinking beer and I just said, ‘Hell with it, I’m gonna party with ’em,'” Luke told the roaring crowd.

This certainly isn’t the first time that Luke has performed the national anthem. Earlier this year, he belted out the song during round one of the Stanley Cup Playoff games in Nashville. Before that, he delivered the anthem at Super Bowl LI.
