Luke Bryan ain’t no dummy.

The country superstar knows full well that when your career is hot, you need to take advantage of each and every opportunity. Unfortunately with that success comes the realization that this often means that you will be spending a whole lot of time away from your family.

But for Luke, it’s just a part of his job.

“My take on touring is it’s been so fun for me and that’s just where my bread is buttered,” Luke told Rolling Stone Country. “I enjoy getting out there and being in front of the fans.”

And while Luke was able to bring his kids out on tour with him when they were young (like in this adorable video), things have gotten harder as his boys have gotten older, and people begin to doubt why he continues on such a jam-packed schedule.

“Everybody is like, ‘Wow, you’re doing 90-something dates again,'” says Bryan, who kicks off his Kill the Lights Tour on Feb. 18. “For me, everything I’ve ever done has worked to make all this stuff happen, so I’m not going to start shaving dates away. I want to get out there and be in front of as many people as I can and have fun. I’m always going to have a pretty stacked up touring schedule.”
